Annie's Home Cooking is one of my best dining experiences! I work for a nearby university and asked Ms. Annie to host students from the institution as a part of a "North Mississippi History Trip" I created. She agreed and gave us all a memorable experience. On arrival, she greeted every student as if she knew them personally and ensured everyone was comfortable. She gave us a brief history of her business and then fed us until we were full as ticks! Everything was DELICIOUS! We had fried chicken, fried catfish, spaghetti, yams, greens, green beans, potato salad, coleslaw, cornbread, dinner rolls, and dessert! As you can see from the photos, I cleaned my plate!Thank you, Ms. Annie, for welcoming me and our students with open arms!
If you are looking for soul food cooked with heart & soul then this is the spot! One thing I love is to go to restaurants where the owner greets you at the door! Not only did Ms. Annie greet us, she also fixed our plates, and conversed with us the entire visit. This is a small intimate restaurant. The restaurant is buffet style but everything is behind glass & someone fixes your plate while you make your selections. Someone will also bring your drink to the table. Everything we had was delicious! I had the fried chicken, greens, & yams. My hubby had the chicken & dumplings, pinto beans & yams. The chicken & dumplings were the best I’ve had in years! I can’t wait to visit again! Such a rare gem with great prices as well!
I love this eatery. It felt like Big Ma's when I walked in the people were so nice. The food was good especially the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. BUT MS. ANN....she made it All come together with her kindness and her way of just making you comfortable was out of site. I want to thank Ms. Ann for the memory you are truly blessed and thank you for your story and the history lesson you truly are one of a kind. Love Ya!! (The Picture is Worth A Thousand Words)
Best home cooking ever and everyone that works there are just so nice. One of my favorites, I eat there every time I’m in Holly Springs. I wish it were closer to my home.
Stopped in for a late lunch. Ms. Annie and Ms. Mae took excellent care of us and served the best fried chicken and green beans. So delicious, friendly and clean.
Aside from the food, the most memorable thing to note about this restaurant was how kind and welcoming the owner was! We were immediately greeted as soon as we entered and the rest of the staff were kind and hospitable. Now the food was delicious! My faves were the fried fish and chicken along with the sweet potatoes. The atmosphere was very cozy and it felt like home! We drove an hour away to visit Annie’s and we were not disappointed! Definitely looking forward to coming back
Stopped at Annie’s for lunch on our way home from Memphis and was not disappointed! The fried chicken breast was oh so delicious. The vegetables were seasoned to perfection, just good home cooking. There is a short buffet line and ample seating. Annie was working the register and greeted and thanked every customer. Sweet spot for lunch.
This food touches your soul. I will definitely be back. Ms. Annie was so vibrant. I don’t like my food touching, and she happily put my greens and green beans in bowls. She won my heart!
